beyti at saffron

an intimate multi-course pop-up experience at the new saffron. like the best dinner party in minneapolis. where strangers become friends, plates keep showing up, and someone pours you another glass before you ask.

as saffron slowly comes back to life, i want to invite you into something deeply personal.

on may 29th & 30th, beyti returns with “mashawi,” an intimate dinner inspired by some of my earliest memories, standing beside my father over charcoal fires on rooftops in the middle east. the scent of smoke clinging to the air, dripping fat hitting hot coals, skewers turning slowly by hand, music playing somewhere in the background, people gathering long after the meal is over. there is something timeless about cooking this way, something primal, generous, alive, and i want to share it with you.

“mashawi” translates loosely to grilled or charcoal-cooked meats, but for me, it represents much more than that. it is memory, care, abundance, and the kind of cooking meant to bring people together around one table.

this dinner will take place in the private dining room of our upcoming saffron space, formerly the back bar at young joni. one seating only, with all guests seated together family-style, sharing food, conversation, and the experience alongside strangers who hopefully won’t feel like strangers by the end of the night.

some menu highlights include:

tuna kubbeh nayieh // raw & pickled vegetables, lovash crackers, herbs
grilled lamb chops // wild oregano, lemon, olive oil
wagyu skirt steak // dry harissa, coriander pickled vegetables
coriander potatoes // roasted tomatoes, garlic yogurt, caramelized paprika butter

each ticket includes a beverage pairing, with non-alcoholic options available upon request.

tickets are $190 per guest plus tax (service is included). we have very limited seating available, so book your tickets now.

free parking is available adjacent to the building. use the alley and follow the red light for entrance to the space.

beyti translates to “my home.” this is how i would cook for you at mine.
